The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is Australia's official statistical organisation.


The ABS collects information of national importance about the economy, population and society of Australia. It does this through household and business surveys and the Census of Population and Housing.The ABS collects, compiles, analyses and disseminates a wide range of statistics. We also work with other federal, state and local government agencies to help them do likewise.
